12. CZECH UKULELE FESTIVAL – an unforgettable summer event full of music and good mood.

On Friday, July 26, we will go on a traditional ukulele trip, this time to Prague at Vyšehrad to the legendary garden and pub Na Hradbách, the opening day of the festival is always entrance free. During the afternoon, Czech and foreign groups will perform, but there will also be space for the presentation of amateur artists as a part of the open mic. The afternoon will include a public Hula dance workshop led by the group Avei Varu Polynesia with Hinatea (PL).
 
On the weekend of 27th - 28th July, the festival will take place in the Únětice brewery in the village of Únětice near Prague. As usual, a complete program of approx. 12 workshops of different focus will be prepared for visitors (even for beginners, where we will be happy to lend you an instrument), a varied program of concerts of many genres and groups, an open mic, a rich raffle and a circus show.
 
Our main guests are Christopher Davis Shannon (USA), Tiny Tall Tales (UK+AT), Barada Street (UK+KGZ), The Remco Family (BE), Circus Sacra (CZ). As we are intensively dedicated to discovering and supporting new Czech and foreign talents, this year we will introduce some names for the very first time: LeLeBAND (CZ), 14-year-old Beata (CZ), Fousáč (CZ), and the discovery of the season, the folk comedy singer Issac Hughes-Dennis (GB). We will also welcome proven showmen and musicians from PUB and Tři bílé vrány (CZ ), Marcela Brožová (CZ), Dead Mans Uke (GB), PPNOU (PL) and Ukulele Troublemakers (CZ).

On Sundays, we turn slightly to theater and circus arts. This year we have added a special surprise - ukulele clowns Circus Sacra (CZ), who will introduce themselves with a short skit and then lead a workshop. We will end the whole day with a performance by the Barada Street (UK+KGZ), whose members can also perform acrobatics with their own humor while playing the ukulele. The unique comedic atmosphere will be supported by three French ladies Les Poupées Gonflées (FR).
 
 The Czech ukulele festival is unique in the world. Unlike other European ukulele festivals, the Czech Ukulele Festival takes place in a picturesque and closed place, where performers and visitors are in constant contact.
