On September 28th and 29th, 2024, the second edition of the event "Asian Days of Tea and Culture" will take place at the Sports Hall of Bolzanova Elementary School in Chýně. This two-day festival is dedicated to celebrating the rich and diverse Asian culture and cuisine. Visitors can look forward to a vibrant program full of cultural experiences, delicious teas, and exotic dishes from across Asia.

Rich Program and Cultural Performances

Visitors will enjoy demonstrations of martial arts, including Taekwondo, Aikido, Judo, Taichi, and live samurai battles. The program will also feature the fascinating Japanese art of sword cutting with a katana - tameshigiri.

Tea Ceremonies

Traditional tea ceremonies are one of the main attractions of the event. The Japanese matcha tea ceremony, Chado, will be presented by a Japanese teacher from the Omotosenke school with over 50 years of experience. This ceremony is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and symbolizes harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. Visitors can look forward to an authentic experience that brings them closer to the philosophy and art of preparing matcha tea.

In addition to Chado, the Chinese Gong Fu Cha, a traditional method of tea preparation that emphasizes precise and meticulous techniques, will also be demonstrated. This ceremony is known for its elegance and focus on details, allowing for a full appreciation of the tea’s aroma and flavor.

Gastronomic Experiences

Visitors will have the opportunity to taste a wide variety of teas from different Asian countries such as Japan, China, Vietnam, and Korea. In addition to teas, they can look forward to demonstrations of traditional Asian food preparation and participate in workshops where they will learn to prepare authentic Asian dishes.

Expectations and Future Plans

After last year’s successful edition, which attracted more than 580 visitors, organizers expect this year's attendance to range between 500 and 1,000 people. For next year, they plan to expand the offering to include vendors and exhibitors from other Asian countries, including Korea, Thailand, and Taiwan, and to include more varieties of Asian food.
